“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.”
(Proverbs 15:4)
A wholesome tongue is a sanctified tongue that speaks the word of God pure and sows the words of righteousness as seeds that bring forth life.
A wholesome tongue proceeds from a heart that is set to worship the Lord God in spirit and in truth, from a mind that is renewed, and from a body presented as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service.
Colossians 4: 6 says –
“Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
So, learn to order your conversations aright. Learn to use your tongue rightly. Learn to bring life wherever you come, by speaking things that why oedify, things that will build up; not things that will destroy.
God does not expect us to use our tongues wrongly; but to use it rightly for the advancement of His kingdom, to bring people to the saving knowledge of the word of God.
Philippians 4:8 expressly says:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Men and Brethren think on those things that are true, honest, pure, lovely, that will bring good reports and things that will glorify the Name of the LORD. As you do this, you will have a wholesome tongue.
Hear This! A Sound heart gives rise to a sound tongue! Pleasant words come out from a sound heart and a wholesome tongue is health to the bones and life to the soul.
