Proverbs 10:9
“He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
What is he saying here?
He’s simply saying: You who walketh in the ways of the LORD, shall be secured. You can’t walk uprightly, if you have not accepted what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross of Calvary.
He came to show us:
The way
The truth,
And the life.
So, He expects us to walk according to the truth of the gospel. So, He said: “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely:…” Simply put, he is secured, because he is standing on the rock of his salvation, and he is allowing the Holy Spirit to lead him, to order his steps.
Proverbs 28 verse 18 says this:
“Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.”
So, one thing is to accept what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary, to believe in His name, to come into the beloved of the LORD.
If you love God, you keep His word. If you are not keeping the word of God, you are not walking uprightly. It’s only those who walk uprightly that shall be saved at the end. They will have eternal security in God, through His Son Jesus Christ.
So, “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
At the end, it will be obvious that the person is not walking in the way of the LORD. If you are perverting your ways, if you are perverting the Word of God, if you are not standing in the authority of the Word of God, and you are not walking according to the truth of the gospel: you shall be known, it shall be obvious to everybody.
So, I encourage you, learn to walk uprightly, because that’s where your security is; for “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
Those who walk uprightly:
Remain standing in the truth,
And obeying the Word of God.
Even when he walks in difficult terrain, or finds himself in difficult circumstances, he remains secured, because he is walking in the way of the LORD, abiding in His truth, and living the life approved of the LORD;
As the scripture tells us, in Psalm 23 verse 4. It said:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
He that is walking uprightly knows that the LORD is his shepherd. They will not fear, even when they are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. They will not be afraid of situations, or circumstances. They know that the LORD will always direct, and order their steps.
Those who walk uprightly will not take any step outside:
The leadership of the Holy Spirit.
They know how to wait on the LORD for direction.
If you are walking uprightly:
You will not be hasty in making decisions.
You will not be hasty in taking any step, without the approval of the LORD.
The scripture says in Psalms 25 verse 21, it said:
“Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.”
So, those who walk uprightly will wait for the direction of the LORD. They know that the LORD can never mislead them. They will not be hasty in taking actions. They will allow the LORD to order their steps. And of course, the end of he that walketh uprightly is always ‘peace’.
Even as he is walking in difficult terrain, he has that peace that passeth all human understanding. Because they know that the LORD is the one leading and guiding them, and they know that the Holy Spirit will never lead them astray.
So, they purpose to walk in the light of the Word of God. They will never allow any other thing to lead, or guide them. And they know that God will not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly: Revelation, Direction, Instruction in righteousness, even rebuke.
That’s why the staff and the rod is there available, in the hand of the shepherd. So, the Word of Wisdom for you today is that: “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
Purpose to:
Continue to walk uprightly in every aspect of your life.
Do not allow anything to derail you from the direction of the LORD.
Remain steadfast in the faith.
If you love the LORD, you will continue to walk uprightly.
You will not order your own steps.
You will not come up with ways that you will like to walk.
But you will be yielded, because you know that the Word is the only sure foundation that you have in this life, because “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” There was nothing that was ever made that was not made through the Word of God. [Ref: John 1:1,3]
So, you will purpose to remain steadfast in the Word of God, steadfast in the faith, knowing fully well that you have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; And you cannot do anything against the truth, but for the truth.
So, you’ll continue to walk in the truth of the gospel; for he that walketh uprightly will enjoy eternal security from the LORD. And the place of his defense shall be the munitions of rocks;
As the scripture says it in Isaiah 33 verse 16, It said:
“He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.”
Because you as you’re walking uprightly, you’re dwelling on high with God; you’ll be seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, far above principalities, and powers, and every name that is named, both in this world, and in the world to come.
So, you’ll remain secured; nothing will be able to hurt you; for “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
What does it mean to pervert your ways?
Whenever you’re walking outside the will of God, whenever you’re walking outside the ways of the LORD, whenever you’re walking outside the truth of the Word of God: you’re perverting your ways; even if you say you’re a child of God, you’re perverting your ways.
HEAR THIS:
And once you begin to pervert the truth, you pervert your security; because your security is found in the truth of the Word of God.
That’s why it’s important to remain secured in the Word of God; for “He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
Don’t expose yourself to perversion of the truth. And of course, if you expose yourself to such, it will be obvious to everyone;
that you’re not walking uprightly;
that you’re not walking in love,
you’re not walking in the truth,
you’re not walking in wisdom,
you’re not walking in the ways of the LORD,
And you shall be known, and you shall fall; because there will not be any security for you, you’re not standing on the rock of your salvation, you’re doing your own things, and you will certainly fall;
As the scripture tells us in Proverbs 17 verse 20. It said,
“He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.”
KNOW THIS:
When you begin to pervert the Word of God, when you begin to pervert your ways, when you begin to pervert the truth, you will certainly fall into mischief; you will not be able to stand.
That’s why this scripture is telling us today; And the Word of Wisdom today to you is that:
“He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”
So, purpose from today to walk uprightly. As a child of God, don’t pervert your ways. One thing:
Is to claim that you’re a child of God,
Another thing is to be sure you’re walking in the ways, the truth, and the life that Christ has shown us.
Make sure you don’t deviate from the truth of the Word of God.
Proverbs chapter 10 verse 25 says this, it said:
“As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.”
As long as you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus: Continue to walk uprightly, and you will remain in that everlasting foundation that cannot be shaken away, that can never fall.
Don’t be he that perverteth his ways, because if you’re perverting your ways, as the whirlwind passeth, that is the way you will pass away, you will be no more.
You shall be known, that, this is he who perverteth the gospel, who perverteth the way of the LORD: and you shall fall into damnation, everlasting damnation; But he that walketh uprightly walketh surely, walketh secured. He will enjoy eternal life, and eternal security in whatever he finds himself in.
So, I encourage you, as you’re hearing the word of the LORD today, begin to walk uprightly before the LORD, and refuse to pervert your ways: And the Lord will bless you.
