Proverbs 11:4
“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”
Trust not in riches, come to Christ Jesus that you may be saved from the wrath to come!! Your riches cannot deliver you at the Day of Judgment!
"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? What will a man give in exchange for his soul?” [Ref: Mark 8:36-37]. Nothing!
So, know it! And let it be clear in your mind that –
Riches will not profit you in the day of wrath: but righteousness will deliver you from death! That is why you need to come in [bridge the gap] to the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
‘For He that knew no sin became sin for us, that we may become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.’ [Ref: 2 Corinthians 5:21].
Come! And accept what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross of Calvary. For no riches; nothing can deliver you from the wrath to come!
It’s only the blood of Jesus Christ that can deliver you!! If you have accepted that He died for you on the cross, shed His blood for the remission of your sins: you will be delivered. For ‘He was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.’ [Ref: Romans 4:25].
SO, KNOW IT THAT:
Riches will not profit you in the day of wrath: but righteousness will deliver you from death!
So, purpose to come into the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! For ‘Treasures of wickedness will not profit you: but righteousness will deliver you from death. ’ [Ref: Proverbs 10:2].
That’s why Jesus died on the cross of Calvary. He has translated us from the kingdom of darkness into His kingdom: the kingdom of life.
For everyone that has believed what He did for them on the cross of Calvary:
Hath passed from death to life !
We have passed from condemnation to justification !!
SO, KNOW IT THAT:
Riches will not profit you in the day of wrath: but righteousness will deliver you from death!
So:
Purpose to remain in the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!
Purpose to remain walking in His ways, His truth, and His life !!
That’s what the scripture is encouraging us here, and reminding us.
Don’t waste your time running after riches, without taking care of your soul. The scripture tells us expressly – ‘we shall prosper and be in good health, even as our soul prospereth.’ [Ref: 3 John 1:2].
So:
Make sure that your soul is alive through obedience to the word of God!
Take care of your soul !!
Be yielded to the Bishop of your soul - Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; and do not focus on riches !!!
‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things that the Gentiles are running after will become an addition to you!’ [Ref: Matthew 6:33].
For “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”
Psalms 49 from verse 6 tells us this: “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;”
Verse 7: “None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:”
Verse 8: “(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)”
It’s only Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that can:
Redeem you from the curse of the law;
Redeem you from the wrath to come.
None of us, none of your riches, no matter what you have, can redeem you from the wrath to come. Salvation is Free! It is not purchased!! Come! – Receive this free gift that God gave through His Son!!
“For God so loved the world, and He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” [Ref: John 3:16]
HEAR THIS:
So,
Set your mind on things that are above where Christ is seated!
Set your mind to walk in His ways, in His truth, and His life!!
For ‘riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness will deliver you from death.’ That’s the greatest gift you can give to anybody– to bring him to the saving knowledge of the word of God; because that is where his deliverance lies.
Your friends, your neighbours; if you love them, you will show them this truth. You will make them to understand that they should not focus on riches, because riches profit not in the day of wrath.
Let them know that if they put their trust in their wealth, it will not save them. But it is only Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that can save them from the wrath to come!
KNOW IT THAT:
The day of wrath is coming! And it is only those who have purposed to remain, serving the Lord in spirit and in truth that will escape from that day of wrath.
Zephaniah chapter 1 verse 14 says:
“The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.”
Verse 18: “Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.”
So, purpose to remain in the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! For riches will not profit you in the day of wrath: but righteousness will deliver you from death!
See what the scripture also says in Ezekiel chapter 7 verse 19. It said:
“They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity.”
Let’s us not focus on riches. It will destroy your soul! Look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of your faith Purpose to walk in Him; For riches will not deliver you in the day of wrath!!!
James chapter 5, from verse 1; it said:
“Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.”
Verse 2: “Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.”
Verse 3: “Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.”
Heaping treasure for the last day will not deliver you; rather, it will be a witness against you at that great day of the Lord! Wealth that has been corruptly acquired will become a witness against you at that day of the Lord.
So, purpose to seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, because “Riches will not profit you in the day of wrath: but righteousness will deliver you.” That’s my desire for you.
As the Scripture tells us in Ezekiel chapter 9:4-5;
“And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.”
Verse 5: “And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:”
Verse 6: “Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before their house.”
Verse 7: “And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.”
So, riches corruptly acquired will become a witness against you. This is a judgment in the day of wrath! The Lord said: ‘mark out those who are crying against the abomination in the land.’ Those who have purposed to walk in righteousness, to walk in the truth; they were marked out, they were marked!
Even today, they are being marked with the blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. And those who are busy walking in unrighteousness, who are busy corruptly enriching themselves: will not be delivered at that day of wrath! The wrath of the LORD will come upon every one of them!! None shall be able to escape!!!
SO, KNOW IT:
“Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.” For “In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death” at all.
That’s Proverbs chapter 12 verse 28. It says:
“In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.” At all! You want to escape from the wrath to come?
Remain in the way of righteousness !
Purpose to abide in the word of God !!
Purpose to do the will of God !!!
‘For in the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death’; at all!
For “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.”
As you remain the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; you shall remain blessed, in Jesus’ Name! Amen!!
