TOPIC : THE WORD OF GOD IS LIVING & POWERFUL
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is (A)living and powerful, and (B)sharper than any two-edged sword, (C)piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is (D)a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
INTRODUCTION : BE ALIVE IN THE WORD!!
🕎The word of God is God’s word and authority! The word of God is God Himself. (John1:1) The word of God is alive and living! It is a Living Word because God is a living God(Heb.3:12) *and we are/ ought to be the temple of It!* (2Cor.6:16). ARE YOU??
🕎 The word of God is a being! John 1:2-3 clearly says - “He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
Revelation 19:11-16 tells us the word of God is Jesus! Vs 13 says - “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.” IS YOUR BEING IN THE WORD?
🕎 Where the word of a king is, there is power. Thus spoken, the word of God is powerful! God spoke this through the prophet Isaiah saying : “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV)
MESSAGE:🎤 BE ALIVE IN THE WORD!!
John 6:63b. “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”
God’s word is living. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Life (Acts 3:15). The Holy Spirit is the spirit of life. So God lives, Christ lives, and the Holy Spirit lives. ARE YOU ALIVE IN THE WORD?
✝️The word of God is vibrant with life, and so allow the power of life and the power of transformation which it carries, give us life, transform us that we may find our completeness in Jesus alone, ;
🚩Believers “enter God’s eternal rest” ie when one receives God’s free gift of salvation by grace through faith alone! and not by self-effort, (Ephesians 2:8–9) but through the life-giving power of God’s Word.! *It is the word of God that saves!*
🚩This truth is the main point which the writer of Hebrews tries to drive home in the previous verses (Hebrew 4:1–11),WHICH IS THAT - *no one can enter God’s true rest except those in whom God’s word, instructions & message has taken deep root and complete control.* God does the work of salvation by the power of His Word when we submit to God’s dominion and trust Him to save us through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
The word of God is a persistent word that is and remains active in us until our very spirit and soul, joints and marrow are divided or parted;
🚩THAT’S WHY WE OUGHT TO BE SERIOUS WITH EVERY JOT OF IT! As Jesus said in Matthew 5:18
